Stephan Leudesdorff

Stephan Leudesdorff is a development banker with a wealth of experience in setting up development banks in Central and Eastern Europe. He has over 30years’ experience working with KfW, the National German Development Bank, and has supported the establishment of National Development Banks in Central and Eastern European countries such as Croatia, Hungary, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria. Stephan has significant expertise in wholesale financing operations in Germany and across Europe, in Policy Development, Debt Negotiation and in the Management of Financial Cooperation projects in transition and developing countries with particular emphasis in Agro and Municipal Infrastructure Investment financing. In Africa, Stephan supported the design of the first Development Policy Operation (DPO) in Ethiopia with a volume of €100 million. During the initial stages of the Development Bank Ghana, he provided critical support to the Ministry of Finance including drafting constitutional documents and assisting with preparation of multi-year budgets.

With his deep expertise in the establishment of Development Banks across the world, Stephan was a member of the management board and the supervisory board of Business Development Bank, Shanghai, China, and of the Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He holds a Master of Science Oec (Diplom Volkswirt, Economics) from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt.
